Calm Abiding Meditation Retreat 2011

5th Annual March 4 day Calm Abiding Meditation Retreat at SIBA in Buchan, VIC.

from 6 p.m. Thursday 10th March to 2 p.m. Monday 14th March 2011

This retreat is very popular, and has becoming an annual calendar event for many.

Take time away from your daily routine, in a beautiful rural setting to either learn to meditate or for those with experience in meditation to strengthen and deepen meditation practice.

Calm Abiding meditation is a simple yet profound technique for increasing clarity of mind and the stability of attention. Calm Abiding meditation trains the meditator to rest their attention on a meditation object such as the breath. By cultivating an increased ability to remain in the present moment and by recognising habituated patterns of thinking that distract us from the present moment, meditators experience increased levels of happiness, balance and well-being.

Lama Choedak Rinpoche who developed this 4 day Calm Abiding course and is teaching it at this retreat, has an excellent command of English and a deep understanding of the Western mind. His teachings are lucid, practical and enjoyable.
